Trust
in the Remote
Workplace
Abstract
Most high-growth technology consulting firms have adopted 100% remote work environments. Driven by the COVID-19 pandemic and the advancement of remote collaboration platforms, this shift to 100% remote work continues to drive disruption and adjustment to the traditional work experience. Trust in the workplace is essential to employee well-being, productivity, risk-taking, and innovation. This study will seek to understand the nature of trust-building in a work environment devoid of face-to-face interaction. Employing the triadic reciprocity of social cognitive theory, this study will frame a working definition and conceptual model of trust. Through interviews with front-line workers and first-time managers, this exploratory study will examine the nature of trust in the organizational context, within technology consulting firms that are 100% remote.
If you are an employee in a technology consulting firm that is 100% remote, have (10) years experience or less in your current role, and would be open to a 60-90 minute confidential interview, you are a perfect candidate to contribute to this study.
